Postage Stamps
Celebrating biodiversity or Country definitives

This year two options are open to potential participants. The first explores the significance and importance of biodiversity and asks participants to translate this into designs for postage stamps in order to create and heighten awareness around the importance of the subject.

The second considers the country definitive - those stamps which represent England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, featuring the particular national emblem of each country on one stamp, the other three featuring iconic images from that country. Participants are asked to take a fresh look at these definitives, and capture the cultural essence, rich history and national identity of each country in a visually exciting way that would be a delight to use on post.
