In recent years the RSA's Design Directions programme has been shifting the focus of some of the briefs it sets towards those that are more issues-led, framing them outside the territory normally associated with our projects and asking students to think about how their skills can address some of the big social challenges. This has been stimulating, often demanding, for students and interesting for us to observe the appetite and energy of young designers to work in this context and the role they can play in driving forward new and creative approaches to social issues.
We hope you'll enjoy looking at these and all the winning work that forms part of this year's online exhibition.
